I have an 82 FC-35 and the Generator was stolen a few years back. I finally fixed all the other issues today and fired the Coach up. After running a bit I noticed the rear of the Bus went up but the front did not, I than found 3 cut air lines in the area where the old Geny was. all the tubes are bundled together but one of the Tubes has air blowing out and the other two are dead, when I put my finger over the Tube that blows air the rear of the bus drops quickly?.
Can someone advise me as to what i should do with these cut lines. I would really appreciate some advice on this. Thanks Rod

Block off the one with air pressure. It is likely the supply for the genny slide cylinder. It takes air pressure to dump the suspension, so I would suspect, as Bill suggested, the dump switch by the driver needs to be switched.

Ok I can try that today. What connections are made near the Geny normally? Any Valves to worry about or was it likely a Tee of circuits?. Thank you for the advice I looked at the diagram on the internet Gurus posted for 84Fc until I was cross sighted.

There is/was a valve with three connections, one for each end of the cylinder (in/out) and one air supply. Sounds like they took the valve as well. Did they steal the whole draw??

Yes they stole the whole tray with the Generator and cut all the lines including power and fuel.
I plugged all of them and you guys are right the Dump Switch was On so I flipped it and the rear went back up. I still have not got the air pressure over 75 LBS and the front of the Bus is still down. Do i need the other two cut lines for suspension or are they for accessories? I now hear a large amount of air exiting a device (Block) above the step frame. It has two holes in the top and the hole closest to the rear of the Bus is pushing air?. Thank You for all the valuable info. ![]()

Here is a pic of my old FC step valve. It controls a cylinder in the step mechanism (follow the air lines). If air is blowing out a port it means the cylinder is probably bad and leaking internally. A blast of MMO (Magic Marvel Mystery Oil). often helps lubricate the diaphragm and slow the leak. WARNING: The step mechanism can do great damage to your body (hands, arms, head, etc.) if it moves while working on it. It is better to disable the air supply line, or drain the air system for your safety.

Thank you all for the education as I have never touched this Bus. Basically I now understand everywhere you find an air Slide or Ram you will find a Valve (hopefully).
this Valve has a supply line and 2 additional lines for extend and retract. I exercised the Step Slide and the leak when way down to a slight hiss and the front of the Buss aired up and leveled out. Thank you for so much help. Rod

Rodney,
I added some info in the previous update, particularly about the danger when working on the step.
