Question Radiator replacement, 12KW Powertech....

While I'm waiting to hear back from Powertech on whether they still have a replacement for this unit, I thought I'd inquire to see if anyone has ever located a "radiator source" for this unit (from my '97 BMC) other than P-tech.

I've had it repaired twice over the last several years, and now it's leaking again!! I figure it's approaching the end of it's life. I'd also consider having it "re-cored", if I could find a place that still does that. The 2 places that I knew of that did that type of work (and did it well), have gone out of business.

If anyone has any thoughts on sources, or shops (preferably in the New England area) that might be able to assist, any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks....

Steve

J P Carroll in Lexington or Rogers Radiator in Medford both can do a recore. I am sure there must also be a good radiator shop closer to your location. I have used both of these in the past and been satisfied.

No radiator available from P-tech, and hasn't been for quite a while, as it was a real strange design & locally? made (as stated by their parts person).

Sooo....., as was suggested, it is at a 1 man shop up in Bow, N.H. to be re-cored, and should be done Fri or Mon. Owner of the shop didn't see any issues w/the job. No $$$ was discussed. (hope that "bad check" principal works!!!)

Tune in next week.....

Default Custom Radiator source

I had a Holiday Rambler coach that had a serious design flaw with the trailing arms ( I believe that is why Monaco / Beaver / HR went bankrupt a few years back ). I was lucky to find source engineering who made replacement arms of a much more substantial design. The same guys own a radiator business. Here is a link to their web site ( Which I originally built ):

There is a link on the page for the radiator section.
