Default Speed Sensor move???

The PO had the brakes done before purchase, and the shop put on new, non-notched drums on the drive axle (I think it was due to cracking). There are notched drums on the tag. I'd like to keep the new drums on the drive axle, and was wondering if the speed sensor could be relocated to the tag axle. Is the mount bracket for the sensor able to be moved back to the tag? Could it just bolt onto the tag backing plate?
