We did that to Thomas's 97 as well.
That saves a bunch of work and time.

i got my bearing off this morning before making a parts run,300 miles round trip.
My bearing is stiff, very hard to turn.
It does not feel rough, but stiff.
I will pull the seals off of it and wash the grese out,to see if the grease is sticky.

Default PTSMH-15BB PowerTech rear bracket modification

I did the rear bracket modification to our PowerTech PTSMH-15BB on the 1999 LXi today and just waiting for a good time for Mike and Connie to stop by the house to install my new bearing and new squirrel cage blower.

No indications of bearing trouble yet but the coach is a 1999 model and generator has averaged just about 100 hours per year for the past 18 years so it just a matter of time until it gives trouble.

Some pics below of the genny hanging on the hoist and pics of the ground welds and new bolt holes.

Thank you Rick. I have a fresh KOYO 6207-2RSC3 on hand ready to install.
Also have a shiny new cooling fan for the back end of the generator.

Cold weather heading for the Ozarks this weekend...are you still south?

The factory recommends replacement every 5000 hours, which I did even though it wasn't needed at the time. But I'm sure that like everything else stuff happens as with it going bad after 3000 hours as st

The LX bearinf replacement is easy, the genny is installed backwards,so the bearing is towards the front.
Rick did his in a few hours with very little help.
The WB and the LXIs are a little harder,it can be done in a day with 2 good people and a shade tree...
