Default Replacement for microphor air toilet

Hello, I'm seriously considering changing out the microphor for something else. The flush activator is having issues and is expensive. Now, I have a leak in the compressor. . Maybe just loose bolts.

What have you replaced these with? My toilet drops down, I had it out a couple of years ago. Id like a china or porcelain. Thanks, Chris

If you buy Dometic I recommend the 320 model. Don't buy the 310 as the seat is cheap plastic. Search for the thread here on WOG. A fair number of us have given the old Microphor the heave ho.

If your toilet sits directly above the black tank- do as Rob suggested. Simple is better

As Rob and Ernie said. Read that I did not have a 3" drop-down. Turns out removing the MF toilet...we had the drop-down. Again, do as Rob and Ernie said. WE DO NOT MISS THAT EXPENSIVE MF TOILET.

Default toilet replacement

Talked to Mullaney and Associates and was very helpful in getting parts to fix the flapper. But costwise it may be better to switch out the whole toilet. I have seen the Dometic 320 with the Spray wash. No air component!
Has anyone installed the Thetford Aqua-magic plus toilet? Looking for feedback on which is more effecient and worthy of a complete install. Both about the same price.
Thanks for any info!

Mitchel,

I replaced the ***** microphor with the Thetford. It has been great, use as little or as much water as you wish. Was lucky with the install, only required a small offset. Done with two 45’s in the drain.

Just be sure you have a clean shot to the black tank. If you have room for a 3 inch pipe than you could be good. I discovered on my BMC there was a floor joist in the way of the pipe/toilet.

What is the best tool to use to cut a 3 or 4 inch hole in the tile floor. I did it pin my 96 but that was 8 years ago and I just can’t remember how I did it. Dad gone CRS.
Thanks.

Dan

I drilled about 100 holes around in a circle with a 1/4 bit and a hammer drill, once through the tile i used a hole saw.
Another tip, instead of screwing the new toilet to the plastic toilet flange, screw right down through the flange and into the floor of the bus with stainless screws, much better.

Verry good, Jim. Thanks for the info. The Thetford seems to be a better quality toilet!
