The Aqua-Hot uses the Webasto diesel burner that uses proprietary gear driven fuel pump. Looks like the photo below. The fuel pump is driven by a gear that goes through the bottom of the pump. The only way to check the pump is with fuel pressure gauge that you install in place of the nozzle. Pump does not require priming since it has both supply and return lines.

I had to replace the split headlight switch, too... though I got that through an online auto parts outlet based on a part number obtained on this forum. (As I recall, it's a AC-Delco switch used in some older automobiles.) Even though the 'bird uses a lot of relays to minimize the strain on the dash switches, there is still enough amperage to cause internal sparking with resultant pitting and build up of corrosion on the contacts on any switch that handles multiple relays. As 'birds age, we should expect to need to replace certain switches and other electrical system components. With my '95, it was about 12 years old when purchased and about 15 years when sold ... That seems like a point at which many of the minor components are at a point where failures become more likely.

Hi. I am in FINLAND, i have a Mercedes 508, 1984 with the Primus heater, it burns liquid gas and heat water for the inside. It is cold here, middle of winter. Both Primus stopped burning, the fuses are ok. What I need is an ADRESS here in Finland where I can repair, bleed air or redo electric wiring. I need an repair shop with specialists. Any help from someone in Finland? thank for reading, I will post everyday until I find help. Seeyah... tpassarelli@uol.com.br
