Default Toll road advice

Will be heading from Michigan to Maine for the rally and pretty much will be using toll roads. Do not have any experience dealing with them. Been reading and no clear explanation found.
Ez pass, pay cash at the booth, other options ?

How about going thru Canada..Toronto,Montreal and then into Maine...That was a quick search thru google maps? It looks like 20 bucks for the Walpole Algonac Ferry. I know nothing about going thru Canada though

EZ pass would make it easier if you have it, you can just drive on thru without having to stop. Some places even have a lane for that where you continue at regular speeds like on 87 North in New York State. Last time I went thru Massachusetts they seemed to have overhead readers that read your license plates and sent you a bill.

E-Pass now has a 18 State version, E-Pass Xtra - most of the East Coast and is cross compatible with E-ZPass. I picked one up for my bus and it is pretty nice. Last year -without E-Pass - it took them 6 months to bill me for using some of the toll roads in FL. This year it was cheaper and almost instant to the account as I was driving through FL.

Quote:
E-PASS Xtra is fully compatible with E-PASS, SunPass, LeeWay, PeachPass, NC QuickPass, E-ZPass, RiverLink, I-PASS and QuickPass toll systems.

We have ez pass in the toad. We just blast right on thru with the bus/toad combo all the time. The toad gets charged but not the bus. Maybe not the right way, but a way.

Please remember that your towing service may or may not work on toll roads. The Garden State Parkway for example is a private road that has contracts with tow companies who do not care that you have Coachnet
