Default Fantastic Fan Leak

The rain sensor on the Fantastic Fan works great, but unfortunately it doesn't keep the rain out when it's closed. I've checked the caulking on the roof and all looks good. Has anyone experienced leaks from their vent?

I like my set up. I don't have a rain sensor but have a vented cover which allows the hatch to be open at any time, rain or shine, driving or stopped. It is a simple installation, you just have to find the cover. It is attached with four small bolts.

Mine had a leak, caulking looked good but I resealed anyway including overlapping on the screw heads...no more leak.

Check the gasket which seals between the dome and frame. Mine has pulled loose along one edge.

I have two FantasticVent Fans and since I live full time in my 'Bird thy get used very often and just like LeRoy I installed covers over mine.

I chose th MaxxAir Fan Mate cover as it doesn't restrict the airflow very much, not shown in this photo is how I use sealant to seal the small openings along the bottom, not completely but just enough so that it would allow any moisture that might accumulate inside of the over from a driving rain to drain, but would also keep any small leaves from working their way under the cover. I had experienced this on my old bus with the same setup.

We have a Max Air cover over the bathroom vent. A Max Air cover is too long to use on the vent near the front of the coach (goat rail is in the way).
