Default Fantastic fan

The interior plastic shell to which the lid drive motor mounts, and surrounds the fan, on my Fantastic Fan has broken, and I can no longer permanently attach the crank/motor to be able to take the lid up and down. I guess it would be called an interior fan shroud... but I may be able to live with a complete unit. I know most people don't want to part with theirs, but if there are extras floating around, I'd go that route before buying a new entire assembly. My current unit has fan speed knob, in/out direction switch, some other black toggle switch that I can't figure out the purpose of, what appears to be a temperature probe, and power up/down.

Any leads would be great.

Thanks,
Paul

You can buy one of their upgrade kits and just use the parts you need.

My replacement fan has broke this twice....last time in Maine!
I really liked the original fantastic fan but not too happy with latest models. I believe I'll try another brand

I finally replaced my Fantastic after repairing the brittle plastic too many times with a Maxxair. It seems pretty much the same as the Fantastic, except it has no breaker. Once found it was beeping and I had to find the breaker in the panel to reset. Maxxair support sucked.

Also gutted the Fantastic motor and fan to put in my inop Kool a matic.

My Fantastic fan has been unreliable since picking it up from Don and while trying to coax it into life last night the cover swiftly fell down while it was going up or I was cycling it down, not sure. (I think the cover close switch is the culprit for the non fan running condition but not sure as it's on that side)

Haven't climbed up on the roof yet but assuming I may be changing this out. What have people been going to if not one of these?

I have all new FF's and I am not please with their high pitched whine when the fan is running. I don't use them all that much, but the Maxxair is way less irritating. I wanted to keep outside noise out more than anything and the Maxxair didn't have and equivalent to the double-layer lid available so I went with the FF. Nice and quiet, no light gets through, either.

You can order a whole new fan with this cover already installed, too. It doesn't look like much, but this cover is way quieter and lets nearly zero light through. I got the white one.
