Default BMC 37' silent recall info

On the silent recalls Bluebird used to do for BMC 37' :

Axle upgrade was to a Eaton 22,000 lb model 22060S, 5.29 RA. (original was 19,000lb).

AC and rear hood vent silent recall was:
Kit evaporator/heater, cable assembly, panel assembly, panel heat shield, Drier receiver, seal rubber AC hood trim, grill assembly engine compartment, seal side lip, seal rubber AC hood trim, trim vinyl, baffle radiator front center, baffle radiator front bottom, baffle radiator front top, insulation, lockwasher/screw/washer/nut, panel, L cmpt side#4, fan assembly sgm 16" pusher 1050-00.

According to previous owner of my coach, the engine hood vent was a significant improvement in running temp, the AC upgrade was not too effective but did help.

I installed 2 each two speed above the dash hanging down from overhead cabinets 12 volt blower fans with on/off switch in dash so I can operate them while driving, and this helps a LOT running down the road. I wired the power for the 2 fans into front lower compartment wire# 4, and grounded them at right front clearance light.

The 94 is the most basic of the BMCs. I don't have the outlet, but newer BMCs may have it. I wanted the power run from a switch on the dash so I could kick it on and off while driving, so would have used a lower dash power source anyway.

I would like to hear about adding electric shades - can you educate me? I may well add this to my project list depending on what I hear.

hey Dan,the radar detector has a switch on the dash too,so its an easy way to add stuff.
after driving into the sun going to 'Q' this year, and not liking the rosen sun visors in my coach i bought a set of electric shades, they are the way to go,imo.
easy to install too (if you have a radar detector above the windsheild!)

What source did you use for the shades?

How can I find out if my BMC had the recalls done on it? I called Spartan and they have not heard on the recall on the axle.

Alan,
I called spartan and asked for a build sheet, which they said they do not have, so I asked if they could give a description of what was on my specific BMC, and got a list of all components, that is if you give them the chassis numbers and VIN#'s, the person I spoke with looked it up and emailed me a list... No upgraded axle!!! Spartan people will not know what was done 22 years ago, most of them are retired or moved on...

I have never seen or heard of an axle problem on a BMC.
I think its a non issue myself.

I think Dan (AC7880) had a quick check he posted a loooooong time ago. I can't find it now. Something about the style of rear axle high hat. Hopefully Dan will be along shortly. However, having said that I have never heard of a rear axle problem on any BMC.

This tag showing that the upgrade was done is on our BMC at the top of the windshield where there are also other tags.

I have heard that the original axle had "slip on" high hats. I know that ours has the high hats fastened with the lug nuts.
