His ideal place would be 1 acre of land with only some oak trees, no pine trees, in a moderate climate, near a nice vital town that has an old steel building and concrete floor, big enough for the bus, a car lift, shop and living area, complete with utilities...and all for under $50,000.
I can think of a few places on the water which would work in Belize.

come on down. I have a good hookup less than a minute from the lagoon and the beach... enjoy it .... and as long as your air conditioner works you would be as safe and comfortable as if you were in beverly hills.

Well, it looks like my departure into the wild blue yonder is put on hold for a bit.
I am still retiring my career next Saturday, but life has just gotten in the way and there are a few too many things that need addressing before we can leave.

1. Have to find a suitable roommate for my daughter, to share the house with. Don't want to leave her here all alone for several reasons.

2. The toad is STILL not running right. We think it might be the ECM.

3. We haven't even begun to PM the bus.

4. Have yet to decide where we plan on workamping at first and yes I know it is very late in the season.

So if I am going to be stuck down here till all this has been addressed, I need to get another job. The hard part is going to find something that doesn't put me in contact with the public...ie ex "clients". Thinking of overnight baking at the airport. Will wreck my home life though, but it's not forever.

Dana, it sure does sound like you have a lot of maybe's in this plan. First the daughter was moving into the house with a boyfriend and now she needs a roommate because she can't be depended on to be on her own in the house. Do you really believe a roommate is going to take care of your house ? What happens if there is a plumbing issue, electrical prob. or a roof leak ? Does your daughter have the cash on hand to deal with a problem?
What if you have an expensive issue with the bus ? ( or the toad for that matter ) that could be as simple as debris on the road taking out several tires and some suspension parts.
It sounds like you have a lot of loose ends.
JMHO, worth exactly what you have paid for it.

Dana I'm cheering you on from the sidelines, if there's a will there's a way & you definitely have the will! One suggestion is to set up a 4-6 hour perimeter from home so you can attend to any issues that may arise (once the TOAD is ready) but with a time limit of maybe 6 months max. It's an escape plan with a safety net.

This is typical, Stacey and I planned to tour the country in 2019! The coach we decided on was not available until Feb., we finally made it to Florida mid March and drove it back to CA in an eventful ride! By the time we moved out of our place, worked on coach maintenance, toad setup, etc., we are just now starting with the first stop at Hood River rally next week. Seven months later than we had hoped for!

We still are working on a few last minutes stuff and hope that we will not be delayed yet again!

Take it easy and it will happen when it does!

No need to rush. You've worked too long and hard for this point in your life to hurry up now. Take care of business, then go play!
I would look for a government contract job in your field. The feds are always looking to give money away on boondoggles.
