The rear view camera on my bird is virtually useless, if anyone has a good replacement that will look original I would be interested

hey mick when i re-did my 94WB i took a pc. of clear plexiglass and fitted the camera through the center of it to replace the glass that was in front of camera lens no more fogged glass in front of camera... i used voyager camera system but many nice systems available now days

I did the El Cheapo route. But it doesn't look stock.
I bought some plastic panel sheets and cut one to the panel size that the monitor is in. I then used my dremel and cut the opening in it for a 7" LCD display. Using adaptors I connected the new fangled RCA jacks to the old camera cable. Using more adaptors I connected a small camera on the other end and using double sided tape I attached it to the existing camera mount. Total cost about $75-80. You'll have to find 12V for the camera from your rear fuse panel.

I made a Amazon list. You might not need all the adaptors, depends on what Wanderlodge installed on your particular bus.

May be better or cheaper options now, but my replacement is still working great with excellent video day or night. I put the rear view camera behind the existing glass of the original viewport. On the outside you can’t tell it from the original. But if you install it that way, you will need to disable or turn off the camera LED lights due to reflection issues at night. Might be a switch for this or orderable from RVS that way now. The side turn cameras are small & unobtrusive but obviously not stock looking. They make lane changes much safer! Read thread below through the end and you’ll see it’s available in either wired or non-wired versions. My posts begin at #23:

This is what I installed and I would recommend anyone to do the same. $20 camera and came with the drill bit.

Any monitor will work that has a matching connector. I ran a new cable front to back.

If you want cheap check this site out. Lots of camera options at ridiculously low prices. All made in China and shipped from there, of course. Manuals and instruction sheets that come with their items weren’t very helpful. But I’ve ordered LED’s from this company and they delivered fast:

Have you tried Alibaba.com? I see those ridiculously low prices but assume they're all scams.

Light in a box looks like a good option they have plenty to choose from wired or wireless,

Couple of points.

Image driver sees is reversed.question on repair by changing camera or monitor should be ?what appliance process the change? .

Issues of clarity could be one of several things ;monitor ;camera ;cable. May be a good idea to test cable.


Sound. I forget if my 94 had sound but my 99 does and it helps to listen to spotter. wish there was a way for conversation with the spotter. However 43 foot is a good walk to cool off when a urgent need to respond arise.
