Ed- you can try a good rinse of the water system with White Vinegar. It will knock a bunch of stuff loose- so be prepared to clean screens in shower regulator, toilet (yes there is one), sink and strainer. I poured 5 gallons into my system a few years ago and was surprised at what was "residing rent-free" in the pipes.
