Here are some pictures of the front end damage. The generator cover took a good hit, including bending the cover frame. The headlight lenses look good, but that's only on the surface. The mounting brackets and all of the supporting frame work behind the lenses are shot. I am still waiting for the police report to be available.

(I tried to rotate the pics, but it did not take.)

Timothy, not that it isn't bad, but I was really expecting a lot worse. When you talk about a simi colliding with the front of the bus you immediately think a "LOT WORSE". That shouldn't be a big issue and I would think any competent body shop could handle that. The only issue might be straitening out your genny track and getting it to line up "perfectly" and operating properly. But again a good quality shop should be able to handle it and tell them price is not object when they estimate the repair. That trucking company will consider themselves lucky with whatever you come up with. Good luck.

Thank you for your encouragement. I am confident the repairs will be able to be made to my complete satisfaction.

Tim.Back when I was younger that would have been a weekend project for me but after 50 years doing body work and paintingI think I'll let the younger guys do it. Time for that LED update.

Roger That. For those who have been in similar situations, or in comparison to what we all see regarding vehicles other than Blue Birds, I recognize now that I got off light. The PRIMARY concern in my decision to purchase the Bird was safety. I'm happy. Since the trucking company did not lose a load, have to pay for 200 feet of guardrail, or injury/loss of life, they should be happy also. Thank you, again for the information, Lee.
