3 working Cruisairs for almost free
I have a new to me 82 FC35SB with 3 working Cruisairs. Since my plans are to go solar and do a lot of boondocking, I am planning to upgrade to 2 mini-splits. The Cruisairs are free to anyone willing to come and remove them. I live in SWFL.

A residential mini-split is not suitable for use in an OTR vehicle. The tubing connections, electronics and cassette are going to be destroyed by the shaking and shocks of a modern highway system. Good luck with that plan. If you source one through Carrier or another mobile transit refrigeration/cooling manufacturer, you will have much better results and they will still be working in 5 yrs. Caveat Emptor!

Shane,
The Key word in your statement is MOBILE. Carrier has several mini split and VRF systems that are not mobile. Off gassing will become an issue for the condenser and evaporator coil sections as this will cause the system to leak. I would strongly recommend to have the coils coated for protection. This protective coating is used primarily for Chemicals and Salt spray.

The word I heard, from an experienced owner, who has a good bit of experience, "They built the bus around the Cruise Air".
Might consider changing vehicles.
