I replaced one just recently and had no problem getting the bulb out with a little elbow grease. The bulb was a GE 4519 1oo watts. I found this site: http://www.replacementlightbulbs.com...ealedbeam.html which had the bulb for $24.95. If you want to use a different bulb like the 4411 35W they supply that too for $4.85. I put the info. under Links.

To replace the starboard forward landing light: Do I remove the 4 screws in the gasket or the outer molding screws in the body? Thanks!

Well I finally got somewhere on hooking up to 20 or 30 amp power. As I previously posted, when I used the 30 amp twistlock connection only some of the 110v receptacles were live; unfortunately, the battery charger outlet was NOT one of them. So I bought a standard 50 amp female to 30 amp male pigtail. Now all outlets are live, obviously with less amperage available.

Yes you do just remove those screws. Sometimes crid can stick things, but it will come out after the screws are out. I had to do a couple of mine.

The best way is to smash the old lamp and pick out the pieces, it makes it much easier to get to things to clean out crud and loosten things up. This was the final approach offered by Shane (I think). The housing can be a bear to get apart.

I'll have to get home this evening to see which I took out. I can't remember for sure. Is the ---49 number going to be the best to reach you? What time is TOO late to call? Sometimes I get working on her and times goes by pretty fast! I've got a "relatively" quick appt this evening at 6:00pm, but am then headed home to actually work! I'll look then and call as soon as I remember!

When I replaced the four on our 96, I loosened the four screws in the gasket. I also used some silicone spray to help get the bulb out (Actually, Gardner's method may be the most logical). I loosened the screws, worked one end out by pushing the other in then worked either the top or bottom out and got the light out. I used a wide blade putty knife to help push the gasket over the rim of the bulb. The first bulb took about an hour to remove and replace, by the time I was on the last one it took 15 minutes.
Don't bother with the molding, it is also glued or caulked in place and won't come off without damage to the molding and the side of the coach.

There is another thread on this subject under "Landing Lights". Be careful and not damage the zinc retaining ring which holds the bulb in place. Unscrew the inside screws, the fixture can be removed from the inside of the compartment door. These lights are either Parr or Jabsco docking lights and are about $350 to replace. Almost all are painted white plastic housing units. I removed the inside screws, clipped the wire and took the housing off the compartment door. The white powder dust is your zinc ring breaking down - 20 years and you will see some damage. I don't know if you can find a replacement ring. Getting the light bulb can be accomplished 1 or 2 ways, if you are patient soak it in WD40 over night or a couple days and it should come apart. Quick method is a old rag wrapped around a hammer head and pop the heck out of it (Break the bulb). There are about a 1/2 dozen bulbs which will fit it ranging from $6.00 for a GE4411 35 watt bulb from NAPA (farm tractor finder light) or $40 from and marine or RV dealer depending on our preferred bulb. You can also find landscaping lights at Home Depot which will work for around 15 bucks. I went the 6 buck route. Since these are used on boats the zinc retaining ring is to prevent corrosion on aluminum hull boats. Which is not as critical on the bird as it is an aluminum boat. Unless you park your bird in a large puddle of water I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would suggest spraying the zinc ring with a coat of paint to retard the corrosion of the zinc ring, in which you may get another 20 years out of the ring. If you break the zinc ring tape the bulb in the ball housing and shoot it from the back side with Good Stuff ( Expanding spray foam) Home Depot to keep the bulb in place. Use spray foam sparingly!!!
