Bobbie I'm bringing some of the Volvo lights to WOG and donating them if you are interested in a spare.

Not as impressive as kybirds brake job, but still had to be done. Replaced shower mount. It’s a Delta, not Moen. I still need to pick up a couple SS screws.

Replaced the step solenoid and cleaned up the wiring. Works good now!
I replaced the rear marker lights with LED ones from Dupree Products.
Made a slid for the new GEN. Cleaned up the compartment.

Default Headlights, taillights, and reverse lights, oh my!

Started in on replacing my taillight assemblies because my PO discarded all the OE stuff and stood up cheap red/amber LED units that were barely functional, plus wired wrong (for amber) - both amber and red illuminated on braking. No bueno.

That's when I found out I had no taillights (headlights on) - makes sense why a car following me was blinking bright/dim/bright/dim - auto dimming high beams are coming back into fashion and his camera couldn't see my coach, then the brights reflected back and cycled on. Here I thought I was losing parts or creating an oil slick...

Root cause - headlight switch, wiggled the stalk and the tails lit up. Off to Napa for a switch (in stock) - happens to be the same switch for a '67 Caddy if anyone's interested.

Then the since I'm in there stuff begins. Reverse lights don't work, seems to be the switch on the shifter. No time to cure that, WOG on us. Jumpered hot from the bulk oil fill to the reverse landing lights and created my very own total reverse lights circuit, with idiot lights to remind me I left them on. Two in fact (blue LEDs). Also installed the fuel pump on switch on the dash with a switch I bought from Dupree products, in an accessory slot.

Then I voltage drop tested my headlights. Losing 2 volts, even with the new switch. OK, time to apply the relay fix. Glad I stood up a few extra inline fuses from hot down in the battery compartment. Consumed both of those in this adventure. Lights shine nice and bright now!

So, in summary, fixed reverse, high and low beams, taillights, and found a home for my KOEO fuel pump switch. No electrons were harmed during this production.

Installed a Level Mate Pro on the coach today. Got tired of having to get up and down from the driver's seat to check the levelness of the coach. Easy install and bluetooth to your phone or ipad.

Replaced the fuel sender in the fuel tank with this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265230670097?var=565102084656

Mine required the 240-33 Ohm version.

Moved Shorebird out of storage, and into my side yard so the work can begin. It sat for over a year without being run (I know, not good). Replaced the start batteries, and it roared right to life. Stopped by the local Costco to put some fuel in it (76 gallons for $450....choke, gasp).

I've got enough room to park it next to the new house, and open it up. Need to do a couple of things right away - the front skylight was "sealed" with spray foam, and that leaked last winter, and replace the shower faucets and knobs after I borked them all up trying to get the hard water stains off.

Lots of projects to work on, but at least the drive train is in good shape!

Default Finished 2022 Summer Trip Yesterday - More YT Videos Soon

Finished up our 2022 Summer Trip yesterday. Lots of YouTube videos to edit & get out - New Jeeping Ride-Along over Imogene Pass out tomorrowhttps://m.youtube.com/channel/UCuAv8...fQT4bIw/videos.

One night at Payson AZ Casino’s not-so-level lot “cost” me $50. Trusty leveling “blocks” came in handy. Leveled but required left front completely off the ground. NEVER do that with the rears in the air! Yes, those are SnapPads and I love them. Made the wood blocks years ago. Handy to have them every once in awhile. Stopped by Surprise AZ Sam’s to top the bus off before putting it away. Thanks Joe!

PS - Billy: as painful as it is … I recommend you always store your coach with a full tank & use a good algicide. With that, a tank of diesel can last almost indefinitely. Storing with an empty tank can induce moisture and air into your system (which algae loves). Storing empty is bad for lots of reasons.

I found this article referencing Cummins:

Also, this information shows a Year-Round Maintenance Schedule, as well as solutions to specific issues:
