Hi there,
We have a 1969 Bluebird Travel lodge with a 390 Ford engine. We have to replace the clutch which is on its end. I couldn't find the right clutch online or with a autopart shop it would be a guess as it doesn't show up in the database. Can anyone tell me which and where to order the clutch I need for this. Would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Arnaud

I want to see pics of the BBInn!
The clutch should be an easy thing to get, once you have it out. trying to buy one by application is going to be tough. You will need to know the diameter, the spline diameter and the spline count. I have had great luck with using a clutch rebuilder. A good truck parts place should be able to refer you to a rebuilder.

The clutch and flywheel came from Ford truck, I think it was a universal fit set-up.

It is not a one size fits all deal. Depends on the size of the engine and type transmission. In a vehicle that old I would not pull the tranny and replace only the clutch. Instead I would replace the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. You may ever need to resurface the flywheel if the clutch has beat it up.

Rick It was long ago, it was not one size fits all but was a replacement Ford was using and it is a Ford B600 bus with all Ford parts. So just bring the flywheel/clutch to Ford truck and they should have it. I had replaced or rebuilt the complete trans with new clutch & flywheel & bearings at one time.

By the way, it's wise to resurface the flywheel. When it comes to matching vintage parts, always take the old parts in for comparison, particularly with vehicles well past their silver anniversary.
