Maybe this post can help somebody else.
On a recent trip I noticed may dash lights went off. ![]() ![]() I pulled into a wayside and checked my head and tail lights and they were not working. My brake, turn signal, driving and clearance lights all worked. I was able to make it home before it got dark. I did some research and opened the outside driver side fuse compartment and checked the Fuse Chart P1 and found the head light fuse and it was ok. Then I looked for the tail light fuse P1C1 and found that fuse was bad. ![]() ![]() Replaced the fuse and all lights are now working. ![]() ![]()

Alan,
Could it be the toad / trailer hookup??, or you may have a tailight converter or diodes

You are wondering if my toad connection might be the cause of the fuse going bad? That is a good question. The truck has diodes. I did have the left directional dash light intermediately go on and off by it self that same day, but that went away. Never add an issue with my previous coach. Can fuses go bad after a while?

Fuse elements can fail from fatigue due to heat cycling (thermal expansion/contraction) and vibration. In addition, the ends of the fuse and the mounting points are subject to corrosion from the usual suspects (moisture, oxygen, contaminants (salt)).
Many years ago I drove old Mercedes autos; they used fuses that consisted of a cylindrical ceramic body with an element crimped onto the ends with a strip connecting them. After 10 years or so it was advisable to go through and replace all of them, as the exposed elements would crack where they met the crimped ends.
