Default Battery Charger

Would any one Know where the battery chargers are for a 1984 1/2 PT 36?

It is not where the manual says it is or where i have been told it should be.

What i do know is , when i turn on the breaker for battery charger there is a distinct hum coming from under the bus near the driver seat.

I see a vented compartment flush with the underside of the floor.
This is where i will start.

yes- in the 87 PT 40 there are there also. The PT 36 are hidden some where

I am confident that they are in that area.

i am planning on replacing these chargers and looking for what i will find and the best way to replace them.

my bus still has a working ready line inverter under the batteries that i would like to upgrade.

i know i seen threads on this task, i just have to find them.

I have gone through 2 high quality battery chargers and a set of batteries in 3 years.
I am now checking if the batteries are connected correctly. I now have the information for the correct hook up. I will check connection tommorow.

If you have an 84 1/2 PT-36 you need to change your signature to reflect that.

On my 84 1/2 PT-36 the battery chargers were behind a louvered panel near the batteries.

Can you post pictures of the front of the coach and of the driver’s side of the coach? And maybe a few pictures of the battery area including the area I mentioned.

Default SP 36 1990 Battery Chargers

FWIW, the foremost curbside bay houses my 2 battery chargers. They're plugged into an outlet.

I don't have much detail of the battery compartment .

I can take a picture tomorrow of that area.

Thinking the charger is located in the vented cover behind the speaker. This is located under the bus at the drivers seat.

i will be traveling next week and this task has moved up the list.

The batteries on my PT 36 ar in a vented compartment just forward of the passenger side engine and battery access. There is a slide bolt and then the whole panel lifts out to reveal the chargers.
