Default New Dometic ACs not compatible with older wired in models?

Hello,
My RV repairman says my new Dometic 13.5 BTU AC is not compatible for installation purposes with my old same basic model (13.5 BTU), as my old one is hardwired and the new model is not hardwired? Says needs a controller which is hard to next to impossible to find? Can anyone help me or direct me to a solution/parts or person? Thanks!

Edit: Moved from "How to use the Forum Features" J. Wyatt

You need a new "RV Repairman". There are Wanderlodges 10-20 years older than yours that have made the transition from OEM AC units to the newer models. These guys know what they are doing. https://fixyourfridge.com/ They have worked on countless Wanderlodges over the years. Leon is no longer with them and moved on, but he trained the guys that are there now and I suspect they are just as good. Give them a call and they will answer your questions. You might want to send them a couple of bucks for there time, since you probably won't be visiting them anytime soon, given the distance.

Thanks Jim and Lee! You’ve helped me. I’m wondering if my new Bluetooth micro controller is causing some problems with all this. Maybe it’s not compatible with a new dometic AC?

Are you talking about a bluetooth microair easy start? If so, that has zero impact on the thermostat control signals. Definitely move it to your new unit.

I recently visited these guys in Shipshewana ID ( National rv refrigerator)
They replaced my cooling unit on my original dometic 3 way frig.
Great service they had it done inside 4 hrs with an appointment.
Total cost was $599.00
Very efficient shop and they were working on acs too.
Pros for sure!

We are putting a new Dometic 15k high output heatpump on the front of our coach. The challenge for us is Dometic has been delaying the shipment of the analog style unit with all the controls on the heatpump itself so we are now having to add a wall thermostat

I’ll ask my Motorcoah repairman. Maybe that’s the real problem. Thanks!
