Default Coach weights on LX/LXI no slide or single slide

Can someone give me information on the empty weight of the 98' to 03' no slide or single slide LX's and LXI's.

Trying to understand the carrying capacity of the coach to get me to GVW (listed in the brochures). Would particularly appreciate hearing from anyone that has weighed each corner of their coach and ballpark of the fluids/other items weight in the coach when weighed or if you have weighed each axle (steer/drive and tag).

I understand that all BB's are unique as to options, just trying to get some reasonable idea of coach weights to get to the capacity of the coach for fluids/people/supplies.

Please specify no slide or single slide and year and model and if you are providing empty weight or weight with fluids (fuel and/or water).

Thanks, and I will ask a similar question on the M380 coaches.

Steve last winter I lost a 94 to fire and bought a 99LXi. I had the coach weighed on all four corners by RVSEF at Quartzsite. I had just bought it so it had minimal personal belongings (they were in storage) and I was for the first time in years completely free of LUCY ROCKS. If you've ever seen the I Love Lucy episode called the Longest Trailer you'd understand the reference. In any event I had 3/4 fuel and full fresh water when weighed. I have no slides. First I'll give you the GVW figures for each axle then the figures RVSEF came up with

right front 7950lbs
left front 7950lbs

right drive axle 6700lbs X 2
left drive axle 6700lbs X 2

right tag 7370lbs
left tag 7370lbs

ACTUAL WEIGHTS

right front 6775lbs
left front 7100lbs

right drive axle 10725lbs
left drive axle 11750lbs

left tag 5250lbs
right tag 5200lbs

Default Questions ???????

Rob is the x2 for the two tires? Also, is your coach a 43 ft.? If not, are the GVW weights for the 41 ft. LXI the same?

Any idea what the purpose of including a 41 ft. LXI in 98' and 99'? Trying to understand where the extra ft. is in the 41 ft. LXI over the 40 ft. LX, is the wheel base a ft. longer in the 41 ft. LXI?

How do you like the Series 60 Detroit as an engine? Mountain performance, do you pull a toad, fuel mileage, yearly maintenance cost for the engine/tranny (ballpark est.), etc.

Thanks

Rob, I saw that movie. It was funny...I could relate to Desi sweating as he tried to get the trailer over the mountains while it was weighed down with Lucy's rocks...

Steve sorry for the delay. Just got back in town. I think I can answer some of your questions and I'm positive there are a few I can't. Yes the X2 was for the two drive axle tires. My coach is a 43'. Can't speak to the GVW wts for 41' LXi. No idea why they built both 41' and 43' in 98. Probably because the market wanted the two lengths. Don't know where the extra foot came into play. I love the S60 because it has a Jake Brake and gets better mileage. I really haven't seen a great deal of performance difference between this S60 and my old 8V92 on the flat or mountains. Yes I pull a toad (Honda Civic). I haven't had this BB long enough to get a feel for yearly costs.

Default GVW or tire capacity

Hi,
I think it would help with clarity if you explained the capacities and weights given below-- , Are you indicating tire capacities for the GVW?
What are the GAWR as posted in the RV?
What tire sizes are you running?

Thank you,
Ross

right front 7950lbs
left front 7950lbs

right drive axle 6700lbs X 2
left drive axle 6700lbs X 2

right tag 7370lbs
left tag 7370lbs

ACTUAL WEIGHTS

right front 6775lbs
left front 7100lbs

right drive axle 10725lbs
left drive axle 11750lbs

left tag 5250lbs
right tag 5200lbs

My tires are 315s and my GVW rating is 50800lbs. Figures are off the vehicle identification plate situated above the driver head at the top of the wind shield

Hi Rob,
Something isn't quite right. Perhaps the identification plate has been altered?
Adding the values gives a GVWR of 57,400 and a drive GAWR of 26,800.
I've never seen axle ratings given " x2 "
Were the weights taken with full fuel, water and driver/passengers?

Regards,

Regards,
Ross you're correct. I've gone back now and rechecked the ID plate. The figures are different. I thought the RSVE people grabbed the info there. Their figures for actual weights I'll have to trust are correct but here's what the plate says

Date of manufacture Jan 1999
GVWR 50800
GAWR front 14600lbs with 315/80R 22.5 9.0 rims at 100psi
GAWR first intermediate 23000 same tires as above 90psi
GAWR rear 13200 same as above 90psi

Default weight distribution and tire pressures

Hi,
Thanks. Some thoughts:
Your drive:tag ratio is off some. It should be approx 60:40. or 65: 35. That would require approx 2500 to 3000 more to the tag ,reducing the drive to legal limits , but that would overload the front. (and require higher air pressure for the tire loading).
If your weights were taken without passengers and full fuel and water, you could consider re-weighing to adjust tire air pressures and have a handle on load distribution.
