Default Kruse Auction

Lyn and I are going to the Kruse Auction in Auburn, IN being held 5/29-6/1.

They have camping (dry) but a few electric.

It's a mini-Barret-Jackson and they are "just down the road" from the marvelous Cord-Auburn-Dusenberg original show room and museum.

Info here if you're interested.

If you bring home either a C-A-D, we'll all need rides in it!!! We haven't made it to that museum; is it as good as we've heard?

John,

IMHO, the C-A-D museum is excellent. Not only do you have most of the original factory and showroom, the cars are "to die for".

The original showroom is a magnificent art deco, fully restored building that you gotta see at least once.

Also, for those that are so inclined, about 40 miles away in Shipshewana, IN is arguably, the largest flea market in the country. Sadly the flea is only open Tues & Wed.

Sounds perfect to me! You roll into town on Monday, head to get some fleas on Tuesday and Wednesday, see some outstanding history on Thursday and Friday, and roll on to the next place starting Saturday! Do you know of a good RV park in the area?

As an aside, has SS gotten as crowded as the eastern half of the state? I went to the U of MD (a few years ago!) and grew up near Annapolis. It has gotten ridiculous in the Annapolis area. I feel like I have some idea what it's like to be Chinese every time I "go home".

John,

I don't know of any RV parks in the area, just know there are some. Also not far from that area is Elkhart and about 75% of the RV manufacturers. It's fun to visit them and see why you own a bird.

As to SS and people, yes there are now 6 mil people in the DC metro area and I'd love to bail and go some place with a few less people.

Since you gents have been talking about "my country" I thought I would put in my two cents worth. I live just a few miles from Shipshewana and Auburn. I have been to the flea market many times. Yes, they have at least two RV parks in the area. One just on the south edge of the flea market area, which makes it close. There is another one about four or five miles north of town. That one has a lost of seasonal campers. Don't know about availability. The A-C-D Museum is great but if you have never been to Auburn over Labor Day weekend and seen the A-C-D Festival and Auction you aint seen nothin'!!! There is a parade in the morning on Saturday that only allows Auburns, Cords, and Duzies. To see this is amazing. Then of course there is the auction where you can see all kinds of "Toys". It is a trip worth taking. I won't be around this year but next year if anyone is in the area let me know. I would be glad to let you hook up at my place.
