OK,i have worked on one Racor that seemed to have an internal leak,no matter what we did it sucked air.

On several coachs we found the supply line to the racor was sucking air,its a short line,2-3 feet long, goes from the racor to a bulkhead fitting on the frame.
I would change that hose anyway,so do it first.

Randy , can I complete the short line to the bulk head under the coach?

I was able to place a clear hose onto the supply line fom the tank and siphon fuel.
It was when I extended the line from the pump to 5 gal of fuel the motor ran well.

I by passed the racor and still had a problem.

Changing the short line sounds like a plan of action.
I should check the flared end from the supply line(short line) that goes to the racor. The end is a single flare and feels rough.

This will explain why I was able to siphon because the clear hose used fit in the inside diameter

Brian , have you ever needed the heating option for the fuel?

Marty
I have never needed the heater but I still replaced it with this one so I can use it if needed.

I would put a clear hose between the racor and the tank, that will show you if the short supply line is sucking air,,or just go ahead and replace the short supply line, you will have to follow the line to see where the bulkhad fitting is,removing the batteries my be required.
BUT<LOOK BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE BATTERIES.

Brian, what racor are you using?

Will the heater work with a new racor?

Will do

I’m glad there’s an option rather than remove the floor .
For now anyway.
