Default LXi Closet Door Mirrors

Does anyone know the original source for the mirrors on the LXi closets? The PO had one replaced with an inadequate vendor. Besides fitting poorly, it is losing its silvering.

Original source? I don't know.

Mine was replaced by removing the door and taking it to our local reputable glass shop. They cut the mirror and drilled the hole for the pull handle and installed it on the door.

You can select the replacement mirror to be exactly like the original or thicker, thinner, tinted, or plastic mirror.

You can approve or disapprove the mirror when they dry fit it to the door before they glue it on. It means an extra trip to the glass shop but you have the last word in the quality of the fit and finish.

Just one way to do it. Your mileage may vary.

Ron , we did as Tim . Take the door to a good glass shop , they said it was not easy, and they broke 3 pieces before getting the hole cut correctly . It turned out perfect, and you wouldn't even know it was replaced .

Thanks. I'll try. The PO had no such luck.

Or you could call Ed Wimberly and pick it up next time you're through Perry. He has a good bit of plastic mirror he bought at the factory auction. If you're nice, he might even cut it for you. Easy cut to dimension and, I suspect, easy to cut the hole for the handle.

I had a piece cut for my hall mirror in my '84 and I can't tell it from glass.

Ron, I'm like Tim and Al. I took mine to City Glass in Fort Wayne. Door and all. Mine was cracked due to my negligence of making sure it was secure before moving. Anyway, they did a great job. Edges all rounded and cut out around the lock. I was very happy and it wasn't priced that bad. Seems it may have been around $150 or so. It has been a while.
