Default Keyless Entry Control Module

I have a 2000 LXi 43 ft. My keyless entry system doesn’t work. I was able to borrow a working keypad. I plugged it in and unfortunately that didn’t fix the problem. Since all other components of the door are working fine, that leaves the Control Module to be replaced. Unfortunately, I can’t find it! I’ve been told it is normally behind the TV. I have looked extensively behind the TV with no luck. I have searched behind the overhead instrument panel on the passenger side. I have searched behind the switch panel next to the passenger’s right arm. I have removed the Lower Passenger side Circuit Breaker Panel to check there. I have checked behind the access door under the cup holder. I have checked behind the upper driver side instrument panel and I removed both the 6 inch speakers in the overhead. All with no luck so far. I have not found the module or the connections that go to the module.

If you know where your Keyless Entry Control Module is located, please let me know. Yours may be in a place I haven’t checked. Even if it’s in a place I checked, that will be good to know.

Thanks for any help or insights you can offer.

well, the module is in the upper cabinet driver side. That would explain why you can not find it.

Sorry I don't have an answer, but wanted to let you know you are not alone. I looked all over for mine when I was trying to figure out the code... never found it. Luckily, the code was written down on a piece of paper with the manuals.

I am mighty curious to see the responses.

Things are not always in the same place from coach to coach but the door lock module that I worked on in a 99 LXi was as Dave said... in the Driver side cabinet, above the windshield, in the extreme left - pretty much hidden from sight behind a carpet covered side panel.

It is definitely not anywhere near that location in mine unless I need to get glasses. Not ruling that out, though.

Dave is your upper cabinet driver side where the TV is? My TV is on the passenger side and the Circuit Breaker Panel is behind it. The Fuse and Relay location list says it should be located in the “Front Dash - Overhead Front”. I hav removed all the carpeted panels in that compartment. So far no luck. I am going to borrow a cable type inspection camera to see if they put it behind the CB panel.

Thanks John,
The picture you sent is exactly what is behind my TV which is on the passenger side of the overhead. I’ve removed all the carpeted panels and so far no luck. I am going to borrow an inspection camera to look behind the CB panel to see if they tucked it in behind.

Was the TV on the driver side of the coach you worked on?

Thanks,

Randy B

How did you determine all the other components in the door we reworking fine? Mine does not work and I have replaced the key pad but only because it was cracked. I can hear the solenoid in the door click. Have had the door apart several times and it comes down the the cable not being able to turn the lock. Just thinking before you go after the module I'd pull the door apart and see what is actually going on in there. The cable is prone to breaking also. I have given up on mine or at lease I'm not taking that door apart again just for that reason.

Hi Doug,

Our keyless entry has not worked since we purchased the coach in May of 2014. Recently the electric door lock switches couldn’t make the lock work. So, I just took the door apart and found some of the wires had broken internally in the door strap. Replaced the wiring and now everything works except the keyless entry which has never worked since we’ve owned the coach.

So since I’ve got everything apart, just trying to see if I can get the keyless working too.

I found my module in the general location that all the others have posted.
When I started on mine I did not even have the code. So I had to get it off the module. I'm sure mine has to do with the lock it's self binding everything else works.
