Default Hoping to buy...

Hi All,
It's seems my life has finally lead me to owning a BB. My family and I are selling our house and are hoping to part time in a bus while building a smaller house.
I've put a deposit on a 79 FC here in central NY.
I've looked at 4 coaches over the last few years and feel the FCs layout is the most versatile for my needs as a rig for my family and a tour bus for a 5 piece band.
I'm not new to old vehicles and Motorhomes.
I've printed out the Pre purchase check list, but I'm hoping for a few more suggestions as far as the drive train is concerned. Its has what appears to be the original cat 3208na and a 4 speed. Starts, and stops and goes down the road nice. Coach is in good original condition a few little things to iron out but over all a lot of bus for 20k I feel. Heres a few questions thanks for any help and encouragement in advance.
1) anyone know this rig? I believe it spent it's life near Syracuse NY.

2) specific inspection of fuel lines, injection pump,
Transmission stuff?

3) anyone in NY/ Pa area that wants to come look at it?

Thanks again All!

Ben

thats the 2nd bird posted this week with a boat on the roof.

I like the colors,it looks good.
But you will need more boards if your going to drive it out of that swamp its parked in!

Now,about that checklist,it was and is a great document, but it was written many years ago when the Birds were much newer,i would say its a good guide, but if you want to check off every item on that list your going to need a few days and many sharp pencils.

Welcome to wog!

I certainly doesn't look abused. Many of them of that vintage are a horrible mess. This one "looks" good. There is a lot more to it than looks , that is for sure, but it may be a good start. Has it sat outside? It looks like it has from the faded paint, which I think might be able to be buffed out and made to look pretty good. I'm guessing if it sat outside in that area and the interior ceiling is as good as this one looks, it might be pretty weather tight, which is good. I'm guessing new wheels and tires? Good Luck and hope it works out for you.

Heck, the Wanderlodge clock alone make a big part of the deal, Judging by appearances you may even get a Blue Box. Looks good for the price even with the fading..

Looks like a great deal. How does the PO get the canoe up and down from the roof?
