Default Wiper Delay Control Module

The wiper delay switch on my 2000 LXi has stopped working. The switch is a Hella 12v Windshield Wiper Control Module - 001871061. Hella no longer makes it and the suppliers I have checked are out of stock. Dan Hartley who specializes in Wanderlodge parts has had no luck in finding a source. Has anyone found a source for this switch or found a suitable replacement?

Thanks,

Randy B

Randy, you may want to take it apart and see if there is a bad solder joint. I think I may have purchased one of the last ones Dan had and installed it in our SP. I removed our old one and the new replacment worked perfect. On a whim I took the old one apart to see what had actually failed and found some solder joints had broken at the base of the delay potentiometer. I soldered it back together and shot some deoxit through it and it works perfectly now. The whole thing hangs off the stem of the potentiometer and I think one too many bumps made the joints fail. Just worth a shot to look into it.

Good idea Mike. I’ll give it a try.
Peter, the Amazon lead says delivery normally in 3-4 weeks. They don’t have it either. They take the order, charge the card and then cancel the order when they can’t get it, and later refund the charge. The eBay card/kit may work.
Same challenge in TMMotorsports. They don’t have it. That’s why the 2 week delay before they ship it. I also tried JIT Truck Parts. They charged the card and gave me a 2 week ship date. When I called after the 2 weeks, they said the part had been discontinued by the manufacturer, and they would credit any charges.
Thanks for checking,
Randy B

Hi Randy,
I recently purchased some obsolete/ no longer available parts for my 89 SP from Holland Motor Homes out of Holland Michigan. They were a Bluebird Wanderlodge dealer back in the day and have some left over parts. Might be worth a phone call 616-396-1461,good luck.

Thanks Crit,
I checked with them earlier and they still list the switch but it says “Not Available”
