Default Dohaney State Beach

Anyone have experience with Dohaney State Beach (Dana Point, CA)?

Looking at staying there for a night or two tomorrow. They have a 35’ limit and we’re a “chubby” 35’ at 37’. Hoping they aren’t the type with tape measures...

I stayed there a few months ago in M380 and really like it. It is tight.... needed all the maneuverability to get in to my site. They didn't pull out the tape measure, though or seem to care about the overall length.
And the sites have a lot of overhang on to dirt, so you really only need paving for your wheelbase length. Site length is fine. But getting in and out can be difficult due to tight turning radius required.
I say go for it but you'll want a spotter (or two).

I also recommend:
San Elijo State Beach - in Encinitas.
Carlsbad State Beach - Carlsbad.
El Capitan State Beach (Goleta by UCSB) - RV sites 125 and up have a gorgeous view to the West. Others have views too.

Point Mugu State Beach in north Malibu. They keep 15 sites for walk ups. Just show up there by 8a and you'll likely get a site. My door opened right on the sand!

Awesome! That’s what I was hoping to hear!

Thanks for the recommendations as well. Much appreciated.

You got it.
Please report back with sunset pics from Doheny.
Nice restaurants and coffee shop about 1 mile walk to the north.

Attached a few photos of my daughter and I on the beach there. Just over the dune from the west campsites.
Enjoy!
