There is a great thread or 6 on swing radiators and how people do them.
Everybody has their own ideas, which is good.
What you need to keep in mind is your not swinging just the rad, your swinging the rad which is full of water, water is heavy,so you need a stout hinge.
John Finns pbase site has a great picture heavy thread.

Just in case you haven't found it yet, here is the pbase page Randy mentioned and here is a post that describes the swing radiator. There are many more if you go back to the first link and search the term "swing."

This is a super cool slideshow Mr. Finn did that shows the sequence, start to finish, with the nifty flip down bumper.

Lots of good info on John's page. If no one assumes ownership, I assume eventually it will disappear and that would be unfortunate and sad. Just saying...….

David,

I have a swing-out radiator, but was able to swap out the alternator from up top without too much trouble.

Interesting, I was wondering if this was possible. It would save me a lot of time and money if I could just do it myself without taking out the radiator. I assume the alternator bracket is how you tension the alternator belt? Any tips? I may be trying this next week.
