Caterpillar 3208 Solutions This sub-forum is hosted by Mike Hohnstein who has been at this kind of thing for 50+ years now, guess I'm addicted. The saga has been all about progressively larger shop space since then. Honestly, never wanted to get into the CAT 3208's that were originally considered to be a throwaway engine but that's all that works in a FC in my world. Same thing with my Ford toter, that came with a NA, too much effort to hang in a 6, so been at it with the CAT V-8 for 20 years now. In reality you can get excellent life out of a CAT 3208 if it's built correctly. Post your questions about the CAT 3208 engines here and Mike will try to help you out.

Lightbulb Radiator cap

I think I need a new radiator cap for my 85FC. After a short trip, I noticed that a little coolant was sprayed on my front bumper. So I opened the coolant fill door and saw that coolant was leaking from the radiator cap. I’m assuming that I need another radiator cap??? When the radiator cooled down, I took off the cap. There’s no info anywhere on the cap referencing the size. I’ve thumbed through the archives, but I’m still not sure of the correct size. My bluebook has a part #2102085, but I’m sure it’s obsolete. Any idea of the correct replacement cap size?

Thanks

Kent
When I replaced the one on my FC I took the old one to NAPA and they matched it up for size. Just tell them what pressure you want. Mine was 7 lbs.
