Default EDISTO BEACH STATE PARK, SC

I'm just finishing up another peaceful stay at Edisto Beach State Park, SC which is located adjacent to the ocean side town of Edisto Beach, SC.

I was made aware of this campground by Cliff and Barbara Vaughn and found it to be just as they described, with campsites both in a slightly inland area called Live Oak and then campsites located on the beach too and that is where I stay each time I come here.

The nice thing about this place is it is within walking distance of a regular grocery store and gas station and the hardware store if you should need it is also close by and during this time of the year the town is very quiet, compared to the summer months, but the weather for the most part has been very mild and enjoyable, allowing Buddy and I to take daily walks up and down the beach throughout the day, we even took Callie my cat with us for one walk, where she hid inside of my sweat shirt for the most part, occasionally pocking her head out for a brief moment and then ducking back inside of the sweater, it looked like I had an alien inside of me as she moved around inside there, but it seemed to cure her curiosity about going outside

For more information about Edisto Beach State Park check out http://www.southcarolinaparks.com/pa...park/1298.aspx

I try to stop here now on my way home from RATS and Florida, this is my third visit here and hopefully I'll be back next year.

Default Edisto State Park

Hi John
Now you have discovered my most favorite (kept secret) campground. We just love it there. Incidentally, this is the place where I learned to straighten my front wheels first before dumping the suspension and use jacks. That was 13 years ago. Actually I learned a lot since. A lot also from this forum, thanks to all your endless work on this.
Nothing beats the steady noise of waves and the long sand beaches.

The one that I use is a handicap site, that I can use due to me being a 100% Disabled Veteran, but there are others that will accommodate larger RV's and 'Birds. I have to use the additional area behind the normal campsite parking area to back the trailer into, but it is still within the assigned campsite area.
