Default Ft Campbell, Ky

We're headed to Ft. Campbell this weekend to welcome my son home. I've found that MWR has a park on base, but it has mixed reviews from the rv reviews site. Anybody have any experience with anyplace else near Ft Campbell or Clarksville, Tn?

John,
We stayed this summer at the Clarksville RV Park - 888 287-8638. It has nice wide sites and is just off exit 1 on I-24. It's only a 15 minute ride to Ft. Campbell and has good wide sites. We drove all around the base and never did find the RV park and got lost a couple of times. I'd stick with this park next time. Welcome home your hero! Terry

I have only stayed there in my old self contained work van and not in my 'Bird and I had no problems with it back then about ten years ago.

Thanks for the info guys. I chatted with one of the MWR people this afternoon and got the impression that the post RV park is quite hidden. Sounds as if you feel like you've driven off the edge of the world, you go a little further and there you find the park!

Terry, I am proud of my son! He's done 3 tours so far and is expecting to go back next summer. I wish I could hook him up with one of the more "hi-speed" units. I think he'd do well and get more out of it. Thank you for your wishes and support!

John,

You might check the installation Public Affairs Office and see if the Patriot Guard Riders will be there. http://www.patriotguard.org

Retired Northwest Oklahoma Ride Captain.

If so, make sure you bring your camera!

If I remember correctly, it was near the horse stables and it is actually part of the Land Between The Lakes complex of US Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds.

Dave,
I'll have to check on the Patriot Gaurd. It would be neat to have them there.

John,
You're correct, the larger (longer site lengths) park is across from the stables. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it!) the trap and skeet range is on the other side!!

Woody,
I'll have him do that. Thank you! What side of LR are you on? My sister in law is a really good veterinarian in Benton, in case you need a good one. She can save animals that others would put to sleep.
