Default Need P/N Yanmar 4TN82 Fuel Shut off Solenoid.

Pretty sure I need new fuel shut off solenoid, after my "almost" generator fire.

I Installed new starter today along with new C Relay. She started right up and purred like a kitty... but not for long. Fuel shutoff solenoid is not holding. She stays running if I hold it in. I was half expecting this because I think one of the 3 wires to it was heated during the starter roast. Its original so maybe was a little tired too.

Looking all over the place for a the part # cant seem to find it.

Thanks in advance.

NH Bill

Bill, run a wire from the battery to the solenoid...to validate IF the solenoid is bad. If it holds...solenoid is good. I had the same issue once. New end on the original 12v wire eliminated the problem. HTH

Curt, I will do that to be sure, but it was fine before I burnt up starter.

Thanks

Usually a three wire means there is a pull-in and a separate hold-in coil. It takes more current to pull-in, then a lower current to hold it. Put a meter between ground and each power lead. Make sure the voltage is holding on the hold-in lead. I don't know how to tell which is which, but try a clamp type ammeter to see which one carries current during start and which one during run. A weak ground will do it every time

Bill, my fuel solenoid is like yours. The black wire is ground, the white wire is start up and the red wire is hold-in.
