Default Need bird help in El Paso, maybe Woody knows

Woody or anyone familiar with an El Paso area mechanic who can work on our bird's fuel tank. Seems we have a leak or leaks to worry about and need to fix before heading further west to Quartzsite. We are about 200 or so miles east of El Paso. We have no facilities nor can we see where the leak or leaks are. Hoping a patch or patches can be used to fix without emptying and pulling the tank.Thank you in advance.

My fuel tank had a leak it was where one of the brackets was welded to the bottom of the tank. I was able to wire brush it clean and mig weld it in place with the tank full . That was 5 years ago still dry .

There are mobile mechanics in Van Horn, and in ElPaso, go to one of the big truck stops. The Petro has a service center, but I don't think they will have a qualified person to do that.

Several folks have used Rush Trucking Service Center in Las Cruces, NM, just west of El Paso. Nice folks. If they cant they should know who can, also Rush know about Blue Birds.

As above, call truck dealerships, talk to service mgr. Most sub out welding. They should know who to call. Good luck.

Do u have a way to safely get under the bus? If so, could try cleaning bottom of tank, to see if leaking there. If so, could try scouring area with steel wool, and putting large patch of the quick setting putty on it. Might work. Too bad we didnt look when ed and I were resetting the tag air pressure.

200 miles is pretty far away..what road are you on? If on IH20 I'm sure you can find someone in Midland/Odessa as that area is full of heavy truck repair facilities (oilfield).

When I needed help in Midland last year the shops in the area had a two week backup and the only road service I could find I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Thank you, thank you all! Call Rush Trucking and they will see Roundtuit tomorrow. We are about 240 miles out. Went out this morning and stuck my head and arm under Roundtuit and snapped these pictures. (Before anyone yells, the suspension was down and been down for five days, I promise.) The leaking seems slowing down in the dripping department, about once every four to five minutes.

Once again, the WOG community comes through. You never feel alone with folks like all of you out there. Will post the results.
