Default Basement Bay Door Lock Binding

Basement Bay Door Lock was sticking and could not lock.

* Removed about 32 (with 1/4 inch socket) screws from the panel.
* Observed the locking mechanism to identify where it was binding.
* The culprit was the 2 (3/8 socket) nuts securing the assembly...tightened to resolve the binding.

Thanks, Daniel. I've been having an issue with one of my bay door locks. I'm feeling better about removing those 32 screws and diving in after seeing your post and pictures.

Yeah, the vibration works them loose. Maybe some locktite will prevent recurrence. Just don't over tighten those nuts, the stud will snap off.

I had a bay door that wouldn't lock; key just spun. That shouldered bolt in the middle of your lat pic had rattled off. Found it and all the washers in the door. Just reassembled, greased and all was good. Biggest pain was that the wires go through a hole in the panel, so lots of three-armed yoga was required.
