Default 30 amp shore power cord end

I'm posting this Visitor Message from Kathy that she sent to me in hopes that it will get some feedback here;

Hello, I hope you can help me with some information with a 30 AMP cord. In one of the electrical forum threads, I read about the 50 AMP Arrow Hart equal now being a Leviton 7764-C. Do you know which Leviton is the equal for the 30 AMP connector plug? I do not have a 30 amp cord set at all and I don't want to go to a campground that doesn't supply a 50 hook-up. Thanks for your help.

Kathy,

If the only shore power cord that you have is a 50 amp cord, you will be set to use it in a 50 amp campground outlet, if you have to use a 30 amp campground outlet, what I use is what is called a 50F/30M Dog-Bone Adapter similar to this one.

Heavy Duty 50F/30M Amp Park Adapter

This adapter will allow power to go to both sides of your electrical panel, but it will require some electrical management due to the reduced supplied amperage from the campground plug. Personally I do not use the 30 amp cords that came with my 'Bird and have used the above method for the past five years with good results.

These adapters are available at most RV supply stores or you can order them online from http://tweetys.com/

If this doesn't answer your question let us know.

I dont know about the Leviton product but the hubell/bryant eqiuvalet is

RR 435P is the plug
7764 is the female end
3767 coach receptacle
all of the above is for 30 amp

all of the below is 50 amp
9452-ANPB is the plug
3762 is the female end
7968 coach receptacle

you should be able to cross reference with the major manufactureres with these numbers

We are currently looking for a quality source for molded end cord sets in 30 and 50 amp sizes that are reasonably priced and you don't have to fight with

Absolutely John! I don't use the 30 amp cord ever, since I found out my chargers are on the dead 110v leg!! 50 to 30 adapter with the main cord works just fine as long as you don't crazy on loads.

Default 30 amp shore power cord end

Ted:
I travel with my 50 amp cord PLUS the 50 to 30 amp AND the 30 to 15 amp adapters. Absolutely no need for any of the other cords.
Just need some power management.

The 50 to 30 amp is a cord like John's pics show, but the 30 to 15 amp is a small plugin device that fits in the palm of the hand.

Somebody makes one, because I have one. It's enough to run the charger and TV I guess. I don't use it very often.
