Kris, That may be your problem. You do know you have a 12 volt system right?

yes, but I thought I had to charge the batteries as a single unit. I feel like a horses behind but I have four kids who are dying to go camping and I am being super careful because I dont' want to delay this any longer. I am a month behind because of my lack of knowledge.

I am going out to hook up the 12 v charger now.

Man, these things are so humbling.

You don't have to have 30 or 50 amp service to use the on board chargers. Just run an extension cord from a 20 amp outlet and plug the chargers in to it direct.
Also, you can jump with a 12 volt across either pair of 6v batteries, just hook up + to + and - to -. I have done it many times. Also, have you tried the Aux. Batt. switch when trying to start? This essentially gives you a jump from the generator battery.

Are these Group 31 batteries? I have a few diesel engines and my Ford 7.3l uses two 850 cca Group 27's and my BB uses three 1050 cca Group 31 batteries. Those 715 cca seem rather small to me.

12 volt. I charge the batteries from a common tie point so I can charge the batteries at the same time.

Went backwards today. I plugged in the on board chargers last night and left them on for 18+ hours and the batteries are reading lower on the dash board voltage meter than when I plugged it in. The engine won't even turn over. I cancelled my reservations for camping over the 4th of July. It is a good thing this thing isn't a horse and I don't have a barn.

I need to leave town for four days but when I get back I will attempt to jump start it or go back to the 6v charger.

Kris, can you post a picture or two of your battery setup? Perhaps we can help better if we see what is going on

I am already on my way to Milwaukee but will do on Sunday. Maybe I have some photos on my phone. I took pictures to ensure that I installed them correctly when I pulled them for the winter.

ps my passenger is posting for me as I drive

Here are three from my phone, I am not sure if they will enlarge enough to show detail. Note: These are of the old batteries and before I replaced the grounding straps and cleaned up the connections.
