Lee, I changed both thermostats on our 94 to lcd and new control board. This was at Leons recommendation. I don't know exactly what difference there is but we had 4 button analog originally.

One thing to keep in mind is for 95 and newer BMCs is the thermostat needs to talk to the A/C units as well as the Aqua Hot furnace. Make sure what ever changes you make are compatible with all three units.

Default BMC Air

Dan Weaver, Thanks for the link to your posts. Looks like I have several options so I will start checking them out.

Does the A/C unit have a minimum ambient temperature at which it will operate? Heard Leon explain this to a customer last time I was there.
"...below 60? degrees the unit will do nothing"

there is a cube relay above ceiling grill at center and rear ac.. the stat just makes cube relay coil ground to start aquahot -no real interface,,, I added remote stats to mine so I can start front/center area heat from drivers seat and bedroom control is over the bed - where panic button use to be bottom of cabinet connie can just reach up and adjust heat setting then I can kick all my covers off
if you 2 get to Clearwater I will look at stat etc. with you lee,,, see if we can come up with a cheap fix,,, I meant to say cost efficient fix

Lee I had those thermostats also and had mine upgraded by Leon. Here's the box that the replacement came in. It looked to be a easy repair. Swap the thermostat and some control board under the inside cover on the A/C unit.
Too bad you didn't find this earlier..I have at least one of my old thermostats, we could have tried.

So swapping the thermostats will not effect the AH? Interesting, as I had been told some years ago that a circuit board in the AH needed to be changed also. Thanks, I learned something new today.
