Default Inverter needed

Does anyone know were I can buy a Vanner ITC 24-3600? I was sitting in a parking lot with my generator running and the inverter starting smoking. shut everything down and it fried. I sent it back to Vanner and am waiting for a response.

Anyone know what could have caused it?

Yea.. once you let the smoke out they're never the same.

Assuming normal loads during generator use (bypass AC loads and charging Batteries) it could have over heated? Is the area well ventilated?

I find that is the most common mistake with newer chargers, using inadequate venting.

BTW.. if you check the specs you'll find the upper limit for ambient air temp is only 104 degrees!

On the 2007 they have the inverters all covered up in a box, but have an extra fan for cooling. All loads from gen set look to be fine.

Here is an old post of mine from Jan'08 Try these guys they are in your backyard. I'm sure they can fix your problem.
  1. "Just north Nashville try Maryville Marine. It is a top notch repair facility for all Heart and Xantrex products, they can repair or exchange your Freedom and trouble shoot any inverter problems. They do lots of busses in the Nashville area and have a large Marine business, Shop rates are very reasonable @ $75 per hour. I used their services just a month or so ago and for 3 hours of work + parts. 2, 400amp fuses and some other stuff the bill was $289.00"

Default Heart Freedom 25 Inverters

While we are talking inverters On a freedom 25, a few might not know there are two glass fuses attached to a circuit board that is attached to the front panel on the inside at the top right. You have to take the cover off the inverter to get to the board, but I didn't have to disconnect inverters, just slide them out at an downward angle. They are both 2 amp little buggers.
Littlefuse series 229 2AG 2A @250V 0.177”D x 0.570”L
Mouser Part # 576-0229002.HXP
Seems to happen when both inverters and generator is running. Inverters still inverted but chargers quit. Both times it was hot weather. Now leave compartment door cracked open and inverter box door open.
Hope this helps someone.

John, You can limp along with one Inverter. Just leave the burnt one in By-pass ( Tape the wire ends ) and keep the other in inverter mode. This will keep your battery's charged and keep you camping. This is the reason they put the by-pass switch in the power bay. If you by-pass both you will run down the battery's.

Default inverter

I have taken the inverter out and sent it off to Vanner for rebuild or to be looked at. My other inverter is working fine and have taped the wires up and put the bad inverter in bypass. coach works fine.

I may just look for another brand than having this one rebuilt. Just depends on cost.
