Default Propane stove

I have been thinking about getting a new cook stove, Vadie hates lifting the stove up, turning on the valve and lighting the pilot lit, only to have the pilot lite go out again when she puts the top down.
What are others doing, which is the best type to get?
I was thinking about the piezo electric type, does that have an auto shut off valve when no gas is required?

Our 84 has an auto light stove. Maybe yours does too and just isn't working?

Definitely not Gary.
We have to light the pilot lite in the middle for all four burners.

Ahhh, we have only two burners. If it helps the brand is Modern Maid.

At first we were lighting it with one of those long nosed lighters but as the knobs loosened up the auto-light started working.

I have a two burner propane cooktop. It does not have pilot lights but auto strikers when you turn the knob. The only thing I have to lift is the counter top lid. I believe it is a Modern Maid. I will look and see of I can find a Model Number.

Mine is auto light also. At first only the rear burner auto lit, then after some use the front burner started. don't know why, but now both work.

Bill ,

This is just a guess ,
I think the four burner stove had a pilot and sometimes an oven, The two burner propane has the auto spark & no oven, also added was the Sharp Microwave Convection Oven

Our 83 has the Magic Chef 4 burner range and propane oven above. Once we light the pilots, they stay lit. I'm pretty sure the pilot is adjustable. Pretty sure I have the documentation. Let me know I can review it and report back if this will help.
