Caterpillar 3208 Solutions This sub-forum is hosted by Mike Hohnstein who has been at this kind of thing for 50+ years now, guess I'm addicted. The saga has been all about progressively larger shop space since then. Honestly, never wanted to get into the CAT 3208's that were originally considered to be a throwaway engine but that's all that works in a FC in my world. Same thing with my Ford toter, that came with a NA, too much effort to hang in a 6, so been at it with the CAT V-8 for 20 years now. In reality you can get excellent life out of a CAT 3208 if it's built correctly. Post your questions about the CAT 3208 engines here and Mike will try to help you out.

David,

About the only place that I could come up with was Johnny's Auto and Truck in Carson. 19700 S Crater Rd, Carson, VA 23830 (434) 246-3646 ... If they can not help you, they may know of someone in the Petersburg area that can. The best shop that I know of in the Richmond area is Western Branch Diesel. They will be expensive, but very professional. They are located at 10194 Kings Acres Rd, Ashland, VA 23005. Hope you have Coach Net! If not, it could be a pricey tow job to Ashland.

From what I could see on Googlemaps, Johnny's auto and truck has a few diesels in the parking lot along with one RV.

I'll go a bit further. If it the turbo, I wouldn't even start it. If it starts sucking oil it will run away with no way to shut it off.

Johnny him self came and talked to me and offered me a spot to stay with us and electric, and the ice in his own cooler! He said he would tow it and should have us back on the road by Monday. Said if he can't get a rebuilt turbo fast enough he has a camper that caught on fire with a 3208t in it. It all sound good so I said to do it, we will see what happens. We took our car to bush gardens where they have lots of beer to console me. Thanks for all of the help gotta love this forum I would be lost with out it Dave
