Default Polishing Outside Rearview Mirrors

I like shiny things , let's just get that out of the way first. Today I had time to really concentrate on polishing my mirrors. They have been polished by the P.O. but that was awhile ago. So today I went crazy with a grey Scotchbrite pad, two different polishing compounds, 3 inch foam buffing pad on a 3/8 air drill and 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Started with the scotchbrite by hand then wet sanded with the 1500 followed by hand polishing with Diamond Brite toolbox polish and machine polishing with Mother's metal polish finished with hand application of Mother's. I'll post some pics tomorrow from work, too dark right now.

I think this method would also work on wheels.

Aaron,

How about taking a couple photos and posting them?

oh boy- sounds like a lot of work. my mirror housings need to be polished also... anyone come up with an easier method?? anyone know what material they're made out of? should they polish up to a chrome-like finish? i've never seen what they're supposed to look like- only know mine aren't it.

If you're near Eloy, AZ you can get them done along with your wheels and bumpers for under $100 (TIP not included).
