Default Leveling jack

While prepping for our last trip I discovered my drivers side front jack leaked while being deployed. I didn't have time to look at and went camping. While camping I pressed the auto level button and everything worked perfectly... No leaks anywhere. What could have caused it to leak the first time and then heal?
