Default Help with AL manifold & steel fitting!

I am getting the 47' Willys engine going--I think?
In my shop is a GM 350 HP 4 bolt, new but needed the rocker studs replaced with bolt ins. (he sold it cheep- got the work for free!). I still have the st 6 ford in the Willys for now.

Problem: AL 4bbl intake has the steel heater outlet in it, I can not get it out, tried; heat, rust oil, big tools, ect. Any good old shop tricks out there so I do not destroy the manifold? Thank You! Mark

Warm it up a little....then spray it with a mixture of 50/50% acetone and ATF fluid and let it sit overnight.... Tap the fitting several times while it is soaking in. You may need a pipe wrench or a large easy out to remove it. I had one really messed up once and cut it out and welded an aluminum AN fitting back in the hole.
Best of luck.

When I got the 47 it had a 1970 6 cyl ford engine in it (still is installed). I have this chevy 350 HP rebuilt engine in the shop for years and have seen other's have installed them into Willys (novac ? & others have kits to install lots of different engines & trans into them). I am looking into installing the 350 into it, or I might just have a running engine to sell. ???

If this is going to be the mechanic’s corner then I want to get in also.

My high school ride was a rough refresh of a 1955 Ford F100. That was ok till College was just too far away from home so it got put in the barn for later.
After college and marriage, I put a 350 in it but it was still too crude for daily use and too much of a money pit for a poor newlywed couple. So back in the barn it went. It was eventually sold after I lost interest in it although I still like that body style, especially the 1956 F100.

During the 90’s I took out a weak 2.8 v6 from a S10 Blazer and put in a Fuel injected Chevy V8 with the 700R4 From a Camaro donor car. That was a great project and I put over 100K miles on it before selling it.

I recently bought a 1968 Jeepster in almost original condition. I am torn between leaving it in stock condition or starting to add things like Power Steering and Fuel injection Maybe a late model 4.3 with auto. It currently has the Buick Dauntless V6 and auto transmission.

Lots of experience on the forum. I appreciate everyone sharing
