Just wondering if anyone has a radiator for sale for a 1969 Bluebird inn with a 390 Truck Engine in it or would be able to point me in the right direction of where perhaps i may source one?

ebay has a huge selection of truck rads, you need to measure yours, and get the hose sizes (which can be adapted).
You may have to make a bracket to mount it,but if you use some imagination you can get it done.

thanks for that randy... my friend who currently has the bus came up with these measurements which isn't ideal:

Core width: 28 1/4

Overall height: 31

Overall width: 30 3/4

Core height 24 1/2

it looks exactly the same however, and according to all the radiator guys i spoke to it should of had this on it:

Core Height: 19.25
Core Width: 26.375
Overall Height: 26.375
Overall Width: 29.5

Can you see any potential issues there? other than the brackets being 0.75 inch to short width wise which would require and engineering shop to fabricate brackets... apart from that would it be ok?

or could you perhaps recommend a custom alluvium radiator shop?

thanks
jake

Jake. I know someone that builds radiators for a lot of the vintage tractor guys, can come up with about any core. Let me know core size. Is it just water or it there a transmition cooler in part of thr rad. In will get you a price. I have had several radiators for vintage vehichels done bty him and he just did a core for my generator.

never go smaller,always go bigger.

I have been reading a lot about radiators lately, some are very thin, the cheap ones are thin.
Some are thicker, some are extruded tube, some are wrapped tube that are welded somehow.
I would think thicker is better,no plastic tanks, and bigger is better, plus a good shroud is required.

WE always did that too.
Now rows are twice as wide, some have fins in the tubes, all kinds of new stuff.
its very interesting,and confusing,and expensive!!
Staggered rows of tubes, all kinds of stuff.

I have driven this bus for years in CA . It has a 5 speed manual trans so NO cooler in the RAD. It would be great to have a larger RAD OR better cooling. It would get HOT going up very steep roads in 3RD gear. (I would open the heater valve next to the driver on steep hills to add the extra coolant to the front & rear heaters).
Could Jake measure the mounting holes and over all height / width and fit the best-fit RAD into that space?
