My annual usage tax is going to be around $500 to $600 they told me. Seem kind of high in my opinion. The tax office also wanted to charge me for diesel tax but I asked to look at the bill before paying and asked why and she took it off saying that the diesel tax was only for commercial trucks.

Honestly $600 a year for registration is to much. I know they charge by the weight of your RV so being 40k lbs does not help. But still with all the cars paying annual registration taxes I think Texas is screwing us on these taxes. However I live here therefor I will pay the taxes like everybody else.

Just wish they would give RVers a break since we are NOT on the road 24/7 like other cars and trucks.

John I am going to check it out and look for wiring for the white on the tail lights. If so I am going to order some white LEDs to go with these red LEDs.

Thanks.

Randy...you know it all man. Makes sense to me. And like John said in the below post, I need to just look for the white reverse light wiring in the bus and get them hooked up with some new white LED tail lights. On my to-do list now.

On a side note...you do get a bunch of double-looks from other RV owners when they see the bluebird driving buy. I have only driven mine about 5 times now on short trips and a lot of people ask what is it. Very cool to own something so unique and well built! Sad that Bluebird stop making them. I guess it just got to expensive to keep up the high quality build standards.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I try to drive mine as much as I have time for, but that currently amounts to about 100-200 miles a month. Yes, it weighs a lot, but like you said, they are not on the road much. I spend more in storage than I do in diesel.

My registration is up in August, so I will see if 2016 has increased my registration fee.

Woody are you saying that I should NOT swap out one of the 3 tails lights for a WHITE tail light cause it will NOT be bright enough to be functional? So just be happy with the lower fog tail lights coming on and leave the "REAR PARKING" switch on 24/7?
