Default Brake Treadle Valve

http://busridemaintenance.com/2011/0...off-bus-fires/

I ran across this and found it interesting . I googled "treadle valve " and ran across many links to fires that they suspect were caused by the treadle valve .

Default Sticking Valve

Yes, this was a common issues when I was chasing rigs down the road. Most times you could spray wd-40 and work the foot pedal until the pin freed. Most times we would just cut off the pedal, remove the 3 mounting nuts and install a new foot pedal, if the valve was ok and not sticking. This is only the second treadle valve I ever changed. But have changed over a 100 foot pedals due to sticking issues.

I have also fixed some sticky pedals, most of them came from the north, salty water on your boots.
I have never seen a sticky pedal on a bird,YET.
My big forklift has the same pedal, and they stick from sitting in the rain.
