I thought everything had been auctioned off and the deal was done. Did the first buyer get refused or something? If so, then what about the Bird's Nest, etc.?

Sounds to me like the first guy had to buy the whole lot and now is selling off all but the real estate.

the first buyer has not returned my phone calls for over a month now.
I suspect that the courts turned down the first auction because of the low sale price.
Time will tell.

Maybe we should start pooling our money and form a consortium to buy the parts and records?

I had a long talk with the auction company today.
They were contacted by the federal courts to sell off the inventory only, not the real estate.
i don't know just what items will be called ''real estate".
Things like paint booths and big compressors may be part of the real estate.

They will be selling all the hand tools and parts, engines and all of that stuff.
The in-complete busses will be sold and all of the records and paperwork will be sold as one lot, this lot will include the filing cabinets that the records are held in.

I asked about the micro-phish records and he said that he did see a MF reader upstairs and he assumed there was film to go with the reader.
I explained what I thought was on that film, and I told him we (the Blue Bird family) did not want those records destroyed or thrown out.
He agreed with me,and assured me that NO RECORDS will be throw away,he would contact this group through me to help dispose of that stuff,if it was not sold at auction.
He estimates the file cabinets and records to be a full semi trailer load, but suggested that 2 trailers would be much better,I agree.

He said to call them on the company 800 number if you want to talk about the sale,he will be posting a list of sale items on their website.
He did say he would be glad to mail out the list to anyone interested, but I told him that i would ask the members to just look at it on-line,no reason to run up the expense of the sale by spending money on postage.
The sale will take place on Oct 15th -17th (IIRC),the 15th is a thursday, this is the day the parts and shop tools will be sold, friday is an off day unless everything did not get sold on thursday.
Sat. all of the office stuff and hand tools will be sold.

The following week the 4 coachs will be sold in Ca.
That sale will be held on-site,but internet and phone bidding will be allowed,if you cannot attend.

I'm sure I left out plenty of info, but if I remember something I will post it.

Thanks go out to Rob R. for getting me in touch with the contact person at the auction company.

So how much is an incomplete coach worth? It may have been priced over a million completed, but there is no support, warranty, or anything else. So it is pretty much worth the used price of the components. Actually less than that, because who will want to take the whole bus to get a few parts.

Perhaps a company that does conversions would want them, but they pay wholesale for most components and would likley not want to pay that much for someting they had to do a lot of custom work on to get it to market. And then what would they call it?

So would they be worth 200k each on the high end?
