Default Trip prep

In preparation for my first big trip I had the carpet cleaned, replaced wiper blades and started on the driver’s side patio light tube to led conversion/repair.

I am planning to head west in the last days of August from WI to Reno, NV for the air races. I will migrate west along or on the I 90. First time at the races for me. I have reserved a spot in the Optimist RV lot at the event. Return trip will be more southern. Probably 4+ weeks total.

Default Patio light

I replaced the driver’s side patio light fluorescent tubes with two T5 12” LED tubes from M4LED.com. In doing so the ballast was removed.

Anyone need a ballast?

Finally used my Zephyr aluminum polisher for the first time today. Washed one steer wheel and then polished her up. Cam out pretty good if i do say so myself. I'm thinking the rears especially would be much easier off the bus but I don't have a huge impact gun to remove them. Maybe my next purchase.

Get a torque multiplier tool set as it will be easier to get the lugs off.

You will then need a 600 lb torque wrench to properly torque the nuts to 450-500 ft lbs. in the proper sequence of course.

Replaced the tie rod ends on the steering drag link as the rubber seals on the old ones failed.

Replaced the MaxxFan in the kitchen. I replaced it with a similar model so I didn't have to remove to old mount.

I had no power so I had to trace the wires with my new $12 tracing kit. That led me to a relay which led me to searching the WOG to discover that the fan is only powered when the heater thermostat is set to cool. To my defense, this is not in the manual.

The old one fell apart in I took it out. The plastic just disintegrated and shattered into a million pieces.

I replaced it with this:

Now to fix the Fantastic Fan in the bathroom...
